“Public perception matters:” Its just in how you spin it!

The left leaning, Salt Lake Tribune displayed its pattern of printing distorting truth and printing lies, again. This week an op-ed piece in the Tribune made absurd claims that Glenn Beck is a Nazi sympathizer because of a few artifacts from World War II. I was not able to attend the “Independence Through History” museum, however, I did meet Glenn, at the Man in the Moon event, and I did meet Rabbi Daniel Lapin, in the same hallway where the line was growing to attend the museum. Not one ounce of support or sympathy for the Nazi practices came from these to men! They have never ever even expressed such claims in my experience of listening two these men speak! Beck, today said that he personally gave $100,000 to CUFI, Christians United for Israel. Not only does he donate, but he supports their efforts in standing with Israel and so much more. I’m not sorry, but the facts just don’t support the lies! Its incredible that the editors at the Tribune allowed this to print, but its not surprising.

And that issalt-lake-tribune-subscription-april-2012-870121-regular my point of this post. The Salt Lake Tribune has been consistent in allowing their guest writers and their pay-rolled journalists to support an agenda of defamation to those they want destroyed, for the sake of liberalism and socialism. Glenn’s story isn’t unique. I can also point to John Swallow’s case. And the Utah public eats it up with fact, even if they have seen the opposite with their own eyes.

Its astounding to me that our legislators even went along with the Tribune, to go after Swallow. There are 6 investigations on this one man! Good grief, what is wrong with these people? No citizen was ever so privileged. I am also astounded that the Rep Snow, formerly on the special committee did not divulge his connections in the first place! Where’s the integrity? Well we know that among most legislators, there is no sign of integrity.

In a Deseret News article, UT Speaker of the House, Becky Lockhart stated: “Rep. Snow is above reproach, which is why he was chosen as chairman in the first place,” Lockhart, R-Provo, said. “But whether we like it or not, perception matters in the public sphere. It pains me to lose him, his talents and leadership skills.” And there’s the headliner: Public perception matters! And with the correct wording and the correct bias any story can get spun in such a way to sway public opinion. Facts are an inconvenience and to some a problem to be pushed under the rug.

Be careful what you read and use discernment to interpret. Don’t allow others convince you that what you see first hand are lies. The sky is blue, not purple, 2 + 3 does equal 5, the same Tribune that endorsed President Obama and supports elites and socialism, does have an agenda to destroy the Conservative movement. Let’s not be fooled any longer. Let’s be good stewards of the earth and not support a newspaper that deals in trash.

Socialized Food Program done… Now on to Guns!

"Please, sir, I want some more." - Oliver Twist by Charles Dickons

“Please, sir, I want some more.” – Oliver Twist by Charles Dickons

First Lady Michelle Obama has successfully gone after the breakfast and lunches given to our school children via the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Smaller portions, healthier choices and yet our children come home starving, running straight for the refrigerator and pantry. Are your children healthier, happier and wise? Socialism is making that promise as specifically laid out in the declaration below.

And now that the food in the schools has been taken care of, today it was announced that Mrs. Obama is moving on to gun control. According to the Washington Post “First lady Michelle Obama, with tears in her eyes and her voice cracking, spoke out for the first time here Wednesday about the gun violence afflicting young people in cities across the nation.” Oh can you feel that empathy? Its just oozing out! While Obama is claiming that he could have been Trayvon Martin, 35 years ago, nothing is mentioned how 2013 is out pacing 2012 in the number of murders in Chicago, or that Detroit is 11 times more violent than New York City. ( I’m going to pause for a moment to share some inconvenient facts: In Obama’s book “Dreams from My Father” he admitted to taking drugs and that high school was a “blur.” Trayvon Martin’s body was found to have traces of marijuana in his blood and urine. If those are the only two comparisons between the two than the President may have a point, hence the empathy from Mrs. Obama. Also, both Chicago and Detroit are being managed by Democrats. Just sayin’.)

Another thought: if Mrs. Obama’s crusade to help kids be healthy and hunger free are producing the opposite affect, wouldn’t her new project to keep kids safe with gun control kill more children thru the hands of criminals who don’t acknowledge moral laws? The Federal government would have you believe otherwise, because they say so. Time will tell, unless you study history and human nature.

Subject: Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service: National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program: Nutrition Standards for All Foods Sold in School as Required by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010

Pursuant to section 801(a)(2)(A) of title 5, United States Code, this is our report on a major rule promulgated by the Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), entitled “National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program: Nutrition Standards for All Foods Sold in School as Required by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010” (RIN: 0584-AE09). We received the rule on June 28, 2013. It was published in the Federal Register as an interim final rule on June 28, 2013. 78 Fed. Reg. 39,068.

The interim final rule amends the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program regulations to establish nutrition standards for all foods sold in schools, other than food sold under the lunch and breakfast programs. Amendments made by section 208 of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010 (HHFKA) require the Secretary of Agriculture to establish nutrition standards for such foods, consistent with the most recent Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and directs the Secretary to consider authoritative scientific recommendations for nutrition standards; existing school nutrition standards, including voluntary standards for beverages and snack foods; current state and local standards; the practical application of the nutrition standards; and special exemptions for infrequent school-sponsored fundraisers (other than fundraising through vending machines, school stores, snack bars, à la carte sales, and any other exclusions determined by the Secretary). In addition, this interim final rule requires schools participating in the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program to make potable water available to children at no charge in the place where lunches are served during the meal service, consistent with amendments made by section 203 of the HHFKA, and in the cafeteria during breakfast meal service. This interim final rule is expected to improve the health and well-being of the Nation’s children, increase consumption of healthful foods during the school day, and create an environment that reinforces the development of healthy eating habits. The stated effective date for this final rule is August 27, 2013, and state agencies, local educational agencies, and school food authorities must implement the potable water provisions no later than August 27, 2013, and all other provisions of the interim final rule must be implemented beginning on July 1, 2014.

Enclosed is our assessment of FNS’s compliance with the procedural steps required by section 801(a)(1)(B)(i) through (iv) of title 5 with respect to the rule. Our review of the procedural steps taken indicates that FNS complied with the applicable requirements.

If you have any questions about this report or wish to contact GAO officials responsible for the evaluation work relating to the subject matter of the rule, please contact Shirley A. Jones, Assistant General Counsel, at (202) 512-8156.

Bloggers Interview: Deneen Borelli, a voice for Black Conservatives

Posted by on Jul 11, 2013 in Lisa's Personal Insights, National News | 0 comments

Deneen Borelli is an amazing lady. Her biography even more so and her cause of reaching out to Black Conservatives is one of courage and deserves profound respect.

Deneen started out as a runway model, starring in commercials, as she worked her way, for 11 years to obtain her Bachelors degree. I see that in terms of ‘where there’s a will there’s a way,’ and she did it! Her corporate career started with Phillip Morris and headed in the direction to Produce and co-host a radio show called The ‘CORE’ Hour. (CORE stands for Congress of Racial Equality). Now she speaks to thousands whether is at tea party rallies, Fox News, “Hannity”, “O’Reilly”, or speaking with Glenn Beck, and on behalf of Freedom Works as Outreach Director, a grassroots organization that educates, trains and mobilizes volunteer activists to fight for limited government. Deneen is also the author of “Blacklash: How Obama and the Left are Driving Americans to the Government Plantation.” As one reviewer wrote Deneen “gives tough love” about what is going on in the black community, not only going after the Democrats, but Republicans as well.

The issue of race seems to be the last resort to go to when facts and truth cannot be argued against. Deneen Borelli’s grace and poise helps her to combat that. You can see that in the interview below.

She states it clearly “Being a black conservative, there are a lot of black conservatives who are afraid to be vocal about what they believe and their core values and where they stood politically and with the organization of Freedom Works and Empower.org, which is really a community for black conservatives to meet and network, to get information, but its also a support system. So now I’m getting a lot of feedback from people who are now coming out of the closet, sort of speak, because they are not afraid and they feel they have backup.” Deneen goes on to reference a show with Sean Hannity and Black Conservatives. You can see that show below.

The immediate support that is needed, is that Deneen is pushing to get heard at the NAACP’s 104th Annual Convention “We Shall Not Be Moved” this weekend. Please go to Empower.org and sign the petition and pass it on! Black Conservatives deserve to be heard! Their rights are just as important and silence is no longer an option! I’ve done it, and I hope you will join me!

I wish her prayers and Godspeed. She is going to need Heaven in fighting for the black conservatives’ voice, as we all are!
